The Rotana debut

Al Ain Art Club

Al Ain watercolour club member's 5 paintings have been displayed until the end of month at the Rotana Hotel Al Ain.

This is Sheik Zayed. Does it look like him?

There is a beautiful mosque in front of our apartment.
Honey always look at it from our living room.
Poor cat.

One of the kid's parent has asked me that let kids paint sceneries. I realized I haven't let them try a scenery. So I'm plannning what kind of scenery they should try as the end of term.

It is too boring, isn't it? Not only kids, even adults.

I joined ''paintingdrawingtogether"again. 26th of this month was a dead line. So I had to finish quickly. I thought that acrylic is not my favourite, but it is really interesting medium, because we can paint forever. I can't see when I should finish. The fruits looks rot, but it is time over.

2010 summer, we stayed a farm in Finland. We were WWOOFER. Working together, eating togerther, drinking, fishing... we had a really good time with Mr.Marti and other WWOOFER and this dog  Sisu.
He was almost blind 2 years ago. I hope he still enjoys his life in the farm

watercolour paper

This is one of the gates to Al Ain's oasis. This view is from The Al Noor Hospital waiting room.

Every morning, this house turns to orange by the morning sun.
Since I've moved to this apartment, I was trying to paint it, but I couldn't complete it at all.
Finally I did yesterday. Oops, this is not orange at all.

We are going to sell some Chrismas cards at The Rotana kiosk on 13th of December.
This is one of ideas.
The shadows are supposed to be camels though.

My PC mouse broke.
I'm trying to use the laptop's mouse pad, it is irritating.
I cannot use it.

I'm going to go to the stationary shop to get a new mouse.
It took for 2 hours to post these pics. It is crazy.

I'm going to edit later after I got a new mouse. Sorry, my blog's a bit messy today.
I

I bought a new mouse!

It is so easy to operate.
It was a waste of time this morning to post 6 paintings without a mouse.

Christmas card idea

 A Christmas card idea.

I wanted to talk about the watercolour paper today.

I found some really nice paper. It is really reasonable and comes from Malaysia.

I like the back side better than the front even though the front is supposed to be used for painting.  The front side has many problems. The colour turns dirty and it is very difficult to lift colours.
But the back side of the paper is almost perfect for me.
I used to think the paper's price is in proportion to the quality.
Generally, it is true, however there are some exceptions.

Painting of UAE

(This is a part of painting)
Chrismas season has come.
I'm really, really busy.

I don't have enough time to sit.
Finally, I produced some paingings of UAE culture.

(This is a part of the painting.)
I took some photos this Emiati and his camels about 5 years ago in a farm in Al Ain.
He was a really friendly Emirati.
I painted him from one of photos.
I'd  been trying to meet him to show my work, but I coudn't get him.
When I went there to meet him with my painting about 2 years ago, I had a chance to meet a young boy.
I asked him "Is this your grandfather?'
He  said "yes",
I gave away my painting to him with my telephone number.
Because I wanted him to be a model again.
but there have been no telephone call for 2 years.
I'm still waiting to meet him.

I was asked yesterday,"How long did you take to complete one piece"?"
That is really good question.

Because I took this one almost 2 years.
I painted the right side guy, but I couldn't paint the left side guy until yesterday.
They are tabaco seller in Al Ain Vegetable souq.

Christman is coming.
And the end of term of school is coming, too.

There are so many things to think and do.
We have a proverb in Japan,''I'm very busy, so I'd even  borrow a cat's paw.

Friday morning

It is perfect weather these days. I go out for sketching on Friday morning.

This is just 50m away from my apartment.

When I was painting stones, suddenly the cat came out. She/he gave me a pretty nice pose, however it was 30seconds. I could not finish it.

Al Ain Palace Museum.
This Emirati guy is working around the gate. When I pulled out my camera my bag, he posed for me without hesitating.
So I painted  him from one of the photos.
I like his hand. I touched on it just twice. The colour looks like shallow, but I could have done what I really wanted.
